Look Beautiful in all your Wedding Photos!

A lot of women get nervous about how they will shine in-front of the camera on their wedding day.  Have no fear though. We asked one of our top photographers to give our Metro Detroit brides some tips to looking great in all your wedding photos…

You picked the perfect photographer (a Mike Staff Productions one, no doubt), but you are still nervous about how you will shine in front of the camera.  Well, you don’t have to be a size 2 or 6 feet tall to rock out your wedding photos. Use these tips I’ve picked up over the years to look beautiful and feel confident when the camera lens is on you.

Use Makeup for Your Benefit

Since you will most likely be doing a make-up trial before your wedding day, take some pictures to see how the camera captures your smiling face.  A few tips for getting the most out of your makeup:mascara

  • Use a matte finish foundation.  This will create a flawless, shine-free base.
  • Dust a bronzer along your jaw line to blend your foundation and shadow face.
  • Highlight your cheek bones with blush. This creates angles and depth in your cheeks.
  • Use slightly darker eyeliner and bold black mascara to make your eyes pop.
  • Finish off your look with a shiny lip-gloss or a simple lipstick to accentuate your smile.

Work it Girl!

Striking a pose not only makes you feel confident, but also it is a great way to hide those little flaws.CB101841

  • Always use good posture.  By standing up straight, pulling your shoulders back, and slightly lifting your chin, you can avoid common photo busts like a double chin or a slouchy waist.
  • Many women (including myself) are not lovers of bare arms in photos, but for most brides covering them is not an options. No problem. Let one arm hang next to the body and place the other on your hip, pulled backwards. This not only elongates your arms, but also covers any imperfections on your hips and waist.
  • If you know what your good side is, flaunt it!  Tell your photographer that you prefer to be shot from a specific angle.  They will work with you, trust me!
  • The most important posing tip is… be comfortable!  If a certain pose feels too awkward, speak up.  If you feel comfortable and relaxed, your wedding images will look natural and beautiful.photography-branding-shot

Just Relax

Have you ever seen a bride who didn’t just glow on her wedding day?  I haven’t.  So, in the end, don’t worry.  If you hired a great photographer, they will capture all the beauty of your big day, including you.  You will have so many great images, you won’t have time to tag them all. :)

“To be honest, it looks as though you have seized the heartfelt essence of the situation close at hand. While numerous seem to have missed the outstanding idea of it, what was expressed above is clear-thinking plus dead on. I am avoiding pronouncing that I harmonise along all points; even so, I must say you managed to have imparted me grounds to think about several of the items that I thought that I deemed as truehearted opinions in that respects. expressed, and time for my brain to consider a bit more on a couple of the outstanding points. All At Once it’s clear it is clear that you have have added a little thoght to the World.”
