I was emailed this video today, and I just had to share it with all you Southeast Michigan brides. I know it doesn’t have a direct relation to your wedding planning, but I thought you would get a kick out of looking at dresses colored other than white and ivory.

Ok. Dare I say it? There is a trend here. And that trend? Not-so-traditional entrances, both into the church and into the reception. One of our weddings this past weekend, the groomsmen wore professional sports’ teams jerseys during their entrance into the hall. (Of course our DJ played it up by announcing them as a sports announcer would)
Other things we’ve seen include: an entrance on roller skates, the bride and groom switching into each others’ attire; and favorite sport team’s fight song playing upon the entrance.
If you are looking for a not-so-traditional entrance that will likely win the hearts of You Tube fans, than go for it! If you are clever enough to organize a fancy entrance that represents the personality of you and your significant other, then you might have just found a way to add that perfect personal touch.
I do have two warnings for you:
1) Don’t attempt this solely in order to gain You Tube fame. If you are not the type to Dance Forever down your church aisle, then don’t. It is not a good idea to experiment on your wedding day with trendy if you tend to be traditional.
2) Doing an anti-traditional entrance requires lots of planning hours, good communication with your bridal party and DJ, and good organizational skills. These entrances work because they demonstrate the effort the couple put in to represent themselves in a special way. If it is sloppily planned, than it will be perceived as sloppy, and not have the same “wow” affect that you desire.
